Questions:  Power Action Plan

As 2008 draws to a close and we position for 2009, there is a tendency to review the year gone by.  If you’re memories are filled with shoulds, could if onlys and would haves; you need  an action plan in place so that next year review will have a lot of . . .

  • That was great, what a year
  • I’m glad I . . .
  • 2009 was a great year for me because . . .

 

Every day we are sub-consciously constantly asking questions to ourselves, our actions are the answers to the questions.

 

Bad Question examples:

Action:  You got up late this morning

Question:  Is more sleep more important than being on time?

 

Action:  Unhealthy eating habits

Question:  Will it be okay if I skip breakfast today?

 

Action:  Putting off exercise

Question:  Can’t I make time for it later?

 

Good Question examples:

Action:  Prepare & plan every night for the following day

Question:  Is preparing for the life I want a priority?

 

Action:  Following a healthy meal plan

Question:  Is nurturing my body important?

 

Action:  Exercising 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week

Question:  Do I want to feel healthy and energized?

 

The first part of your action plan is to evaluate your current results and if you do not like them it’s time to change your questions.

Got Goals

Lessons in Blogging from a Newbie

I can’t believe that I have been blogging for almost a year.  This time last year Cacia Chronicles wasn’t even a thought in my mind.  It’s been a challenge to find the right message that I wanted to share, the time and the discipline to write; but the experience has taught me a lot.  So here are so here are some of my thoughts . . .

 

My blogging adventure would have never happened without first setting a goal.  Having a goal gave me something to focus on and a direction to move towards.  A goal is not enough though, I needed an action plan.  My plan became my road map of what I wanted to achieve through blogging.  In the moments when I did not know what to write or how to get started, or became overwhelmed I just followed the roadmap.

 

It was really important for me to have markers along the way. In the beginning I decided that I wanted to do a weekly blog, so that meant a post a week and deciding which day I would post.  If you had asked me January 2008 if I would have enough to write for 52 weeks, I would not have had a clue.  Having a measurement goal of 4 posts a month gave me the freedom to focus on a week at time. 

 

There are many blogs that write daily but I needed to do what was realistic for me.  You need to do the same with your goals.  It is easier to look at others and desire to do what they do but to attain a goal it must be attainable and realistic for you.

 

Another important factor to my blogging journey was that I needed to give myself timelines.  So part of the action plan was setting aside time to write and post.  If you do not make the time in your life to do what is important, things will never get done.  Often the hardest part of the task is getting started.

 

It’s been an incredible journey for me and I hope that you can use my blogging experience to help you achieve your goals.  The bottom line is if you got a goal, get started and the rest will come.

5 Success Habits

I always find December an exciting time of the year, maybe it is because I love Christmas and still believe in the magic of the season.  December is also a good month for review and planning.  Take a look at all the events that happened in your life in 2008.  There were things that worked well and some things that didn’t.  Now, start to think about what you want to achieve in 2009.

 

To accomplish a goal you need to start with a plan, so for the month of December Cacia Chronicles will concentrate on How to Position Yourself for Success and the focus for this week will be Habits.

 

Do you . . .

  • hit the snooze button one too many times
  • overeat when you’re stressed
  • tend to be late often
  • choose TV over exercise

 

These are what some would define as bad habits and often when you think about Habits, we think of our bad ones first.  Habits are not all bad; in fact they can be your best friend if they are used properly.  Research tells that to change a bad habit it must be replaced with a good habit.  It takes 21 – 30 days of replacement habits to have the new good habit stick.  Also keep in mind that the longer that we have had a habit the longer and harder it will be to replace it.  The good news is that IT IS POSSIBLE.  Understand that the first week will be the hardest and you might slip up a day or two, but instead of beating yourself up – Keep Going, you’ll get through it.

 

Over the next couple of weeks many people will make New Year’s Resolutions with the hopeful intention to change their lives.  That is a good place to start but not enough.  For resolutions to work you have to change your habits.  Here are 5 great success habits to develop . . .

 

5 Success Habits

  1. Plan – You need to start with a goal and a plan to follow through.
  2. Prepare – When you are prepared, you can deal with all the challenges that come along the way.
  3. Expect – Expect the best outcome, but acknowledge that you can’t plan for every possibilities.  This is where step 2 comes into play.
  4. Focus – There will be times when returning to old habits will seem like the best option.  Focused effort will keep your end goal in mind and keep you on track.
  5. Flex – There will be times when you need to change direction, learn to be flexible and alter your plans when necessary.

 

By developing the above success habits you can achieve any goal that you want to achieve in your life.  You will also increase the chances of your resolutions becoming new Life Success Habits.

Setting Intentions For Your Life

For the month of November Cacia Chronicles has concentrated on how to have a successful winning attitude that covered energy, thoughts, words and to end the month – feelings.

 

Do you ever stop to ask yourself how you feel throughout the day?

 

No, well you should.

 

Your feelings give you a quick indication of whether your intentions are moving you forward or holding you back.

 

For example if you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start your day you will get up in time to exercise and stretch.  You’ll make the time to have a moment of gratitude.  You’ll have a specific intention set for the kind of day you expect to have. You’ll leave on time and prepared for work, you’ll make healthy food choices.  You will have challenges throughout the day, but the confidence to know that you can handle it.  At the of the day, you have a sense of accomplishment knowing that you did the best you could and you were able to complete some actions on your list.  All of that started with feeling good and continued throughout the day.

 

Now let’s take a look at a bad day you wake up tired and hit the snooze button a few times.  Which leads to you getting up later than you planned, missing breakfast and feeling like everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong all day long.  You end the day feeling drained and defeated.

 

Whether you realize it or not you are setting the intention for the day, so doesn’t it make sense to set intentions that move you forward instead of moving you back?  Awareness of your feelings helps you to monitor quickly and change them as necessary.  If you catch the bad feelings early enough you can reverse them without doing any damage.  The key is to good feelings so that you can make good choices and take positive action.

Change Your Life

What kind of day are you having today?

 

Our subconscious minds are like a computer that follows the commands that we give it.  The words we use are the instructions that our mind follows.  The words we use to describe ourselves and our feelings are extremely powerful because over time we begin to live them.  We all have a selection of words that we use all the time to define us and if they are the defeating words we will have more challenges than successes.  It is very possible, however to change to empowering words, once we become aware.

 

Just as you wake up at the same time everyday and do the same routine it is the same routine words we use in our daily conversations with others and ourselves.  We are all creatures of habit that spend a good portion of time on auto pilot that affects the way we speak because we have a selection of words that we constantly use to describe how we feel.

We alone have the choice to decide how we want to live the trick is to constantly remind ourselves or we will fall off track.  An excellent starting point is keeping track of the words that we use.  If they are leading us in the direction that we want great, if not, then it is time to change them. 

 

There are 500,000 words in the English language would you believe that there are 3000 that describe human emotions and of those ½ of them are negative.  Which ½ is in your vocabulary selection?

 

Do your words describe the way you want to live or do you live into words you use?

 

Your attitude plays a significant part in the level of success you achieve.  It is vitally important that your level of energy, thoughts, words and feelings are empowering you forward.

Presidential Thoughts

On Nov, 2008, Barack Obama became the 44th President Elect of the United States of America; it was a victory at the end of a 22 month journey.  On February 10, 2007 Obama announced that he would run as a democratic candidate for the US presidency.  There were many steps he needed to take before he made that action, I would like to talk about what Barack Obama was thinking at the beginning of his presidential journey.

 

Long before that he would have probably had the following self talk conversation . . .

 

I want to serve my country

I am the 44th President of US

What actions steps do I need to take to make that happen

 

I know this because ALL successful people need to have internal thoughts of success to achieve success in any area of your life.

 

In order for him to have these success thoughts he needed to have the core beliefs that he was . . .

 

I am worthy of success

 

Success is possible

I am prepared and willing to work hard and smart

With the right beliefs and thoughts you now have the motivation to take action.  By taking action to move you forward towards a goal you become more confident that achievement is possible which strengthens your beliefs and thoughts.  Not everyone can be president of America but we can all use our beliefs and thoughts to motivate us to action. 

 

What are you thinking about right now?  Are they empowering you or bringing you down?

 

If your thoughts are not moving you forward CHANGE them quickly.  We don’t walk backwards and in order to achieve success we must focus where we want to go and make steps toward it.

Energy Boosters

How are you doing on your list.  A lot has happened for me in the past 308 days of 2008 as I am sure it is with you.  We have 58 days left in this year how are you going to finish.  As I have mentioned before resolutions DON’T work, life changes DO.  I know that you have the best intentions, but sometimes you don’t have the motivation.

 

A goal is nothing but a dream until there is some action behind it.  For the month of November Cacia Chronicles will concentrate on Attitudes you need to have in order to succeed in life.  A key factor to achieving your goals is to get motivated, stay motivated to take the actions that move you forward.
