Gold Medal Skills (32)
Gold Medal Skills
by Charmaine Hunte
I feel inspired this month by the upcoming Olympics so the focus for the month of August will be characteristics of a world class athlete. In 9 days athletes from all over the world will meet in Beijing to showcase their skills. For some it will be the 1st time and for others it will be another opportunity to shine.
How about you, what gold medal skills do you possess? Do you have long or short vision?
The Olympics used to be once every 4 years now the Summer and Winter Olympics have been split so that it occurs every 2 years. So that would mean an athlete would need to plan and prepare for an event that would happen once every 1460 days. Of course there would be qualifiers in between that time but still it would require detailed long vision of their end goal and that is just for a chance at a gold medal. Fortunately if you were to put in the same amount of effort and planning you would come out with much better odds than a world class athlete.
The key is you must have crystal clear vision of the end result that you want, then work backwards so that every day you are taking the necessary steps to make it happen.
For example let’s say you wanted to get a new car. You 1st need to know the colour of the interior, exterior, the features and cost. Now you need a plan for how you are going to pay for it. Will you increase your savings or take on extra work.
We all have the ability to become the world class athlete of our lives by creating the vision to lead the way and direct our actions.
