 How To Hit Your Mark

by Charmaine Hunte

Are you planning a vacation this summer?  If you already reserved your tickets you would have decided when you were going away, for how long and where you wanted to go.  If I showed up at a travel agent wanted to go away, they would expect to have an answer to these questions in order to help plan my trip. In order to get anywhere in life we need to have a direction a focus point to move towards.  If you want to change the direction of your life, you just need to focus on a clearer picture.

Target Practice

“You will always miss the mark that is undefined.”

Success is making consistent movement towards a determined target.

Let’s say you’re driving down the road and you run out of gas (which is not hard to do with gas prices as high as they are) and luckily you know that the next gas station is about a mile away.  You decide to walk there get the gas you need and vow to never let this happen again.  Determined, you start walking, your feet start to hurt, you feel cold/hot or perhaps wet but you continue walking convinced that you can make it.  It never occurs to you that you won’t make it to the gas station because you are so focused on your goal and you eventually make it to the station.  You get your gas and go and instantly forget the whole experience until the next time you go to fill up.

Would it not have been silly to get half way and just give up?  So why give up half way in other areas of your life.  There are times when it’s going to be hard, you will have to do things you don’t like or want to do.  These are the times that require you to be the most focused.  When you have a worthy goal you want to achieve all you need to do is focus.

Focus

“Our thoughts create our reality – where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go.”  Peter McWilliams

Your comments and thoughts are always appreciated.
