Change
Carrots, Eggs & Coffee

“Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow.”
Doug Firebaugh
I can’t believe it is the middle of June and that we are half way into the year. Where is the time going, it feels like everything is changing so fast.
“The only thing constant is change.” Heraclitus
The funny thing is most people say that they hate change and that is the one constant that we can’t do anything about. Some people embrace it, some fight it and some are completely unaware.
Are you a carrot, egg or coffee?
Let’s explore all of these and how they change when they are added to boiling water.
If you said you were more like a carrot then when life starts to boil, you would get all mushy and soft. When you are faced with a challenge are you the first one to give in, give up?
If you said you were more like an egg, then you would get hard when life starts to boil. You would think there is only one way to solve a problem – your way – and would be quick to bull doze anyone who got in your way.
If you said coffee, when life starts to boil that is when you are at your best. That is when you shine because your flavour gets stronger and better.
Change does not have to be the enemy as long as you handle it like coffee.
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” Victor Frankl
